John Walker served Sheriff Murphy as a jailer, First Deputy and Undersheriff after previous appointments as District Court Clerk and two terms as county treasurer. Depressed aft6er losing his bid for renominiation and in the midst of a deputy involved scandal, he committed suicide two weeks before his term expired.
