Jefferson Adams served as Undersheriff to Carl Hayden. He was the first Maricopa County Sheriff elected in the State of Arizona. He was elected to three terms and was appointed to complete the remaining term after Jerry Sullivan’s death. He served as a Special Deputy until shortly before his death in 1934.
